Your not alone in loving the possessive type Allahandra. Thats the direction I was planning on taking Velcan. Of course there's a fine line between possessive and obessed. A line which makes me think of Arto and Vico from ADWR. They are my inspiration for this project after all. I can't help it I love bad guys which is why I'm doing this.

Also Ankhesenpaaten you have some brillant ideas for flirts! I can defiantly see him running a finger down the PCs spine. He could try to use a charm scroll but it would probally backfire. Which could be fun in its own way. And I agree tha the lust chambers are under used. I will have to do something about that won't I?

I'm reading over a tutorial tonight and then I'll get to writing again tommorow. Thank you for the ideas and if you have any more let me know.

@Ankhesenpaaten. Those are some great ideas! Nice!

@Allahandra. Yeah, I have to be in a mood for a possessive man. Too possessive and I'll label him off as a Creep-O/Chauvinist, which is a turn off. But as long as he doesn't cross that line, then I'm cool.

@Brei. Oh! Good luck with learning the coding! Hopefully it'll come to you with ease! As far as flirt/love talks goes. Hmm, let's see if we can get the brain to quit acting like mush:

-There was this scene in "Killing me softly" that stuck with me for awhile. Of course, I'll edit it up (Unless you want 'M' rated flirts <_<). But maybe Velcan can pull you aside in an alley and 'tease' you (slowly touching, caressing, kissing all over). Getting you all hot and bothered, before pulling away. Leaving you just standing there wanting more.

I can actually picture a lot of his flirts/love talks being like that with him: Him building you up, and then pulling away (After all, that would be a form of control) or, having the option of Charname doing the same all throughout the game. Until it actually and finally leads to the 'big moment'. And of course, the dirty flirting can continue after that.

-If outside and resting, there could be a scene of "the massage that started off as just a way to relive stress and turned into something more". He could give you a massage and you directed him where you want to be rubbed. unibrow
And if those who wanted to give him a rub down, maybe have it that when players rest outside again, Charname tells him that she wants to return the favor.

-And seriously, wouldn't mind, nor complain, if there was a flirt where Velcan would cut an apple in half, look at Charname with a devilish smile and licks the center of the apple. Nope, wouldn't mind at all. Very Happy

Okay, that's all I can think of for now.

Edit: Oh my gosh, I don't know where I got the name 'Forget me not' from!!! The book was called 'Killing me softly'. I blame the rain for this error. disgusted

I agree, MiLeah, those flirts sound awesome!

I'll second the Good Luck, Brei, with the coding. I'm busy with house-colors hunting at the moment, so I won't be very vocal for the next little while, but if I have an idea I'll try to pop in and give it!

I'm back! Sorry to say that RL has gotten in the way for the past week. My mother just had surgery so I'm trying to make sure she's okay and comfortable as she's out of work for two weeks at least. I'm kind of jumping around doing things as I feel like it when it comes to Velcan. I am currently reading several tutorials on item and cre file making as well as coding. I want Velcan to have his own armor and wepons at least. Anyway I want some opinions on Velcan's stats. Here is what I have in mind feel free to comment and make suggestions. I don't want him overpowered but he's not supposed to be squishy either.

STR 17
DEX 12
CON 16
INT 14
WIS 10
CHA 14

Thats what I've got now. I'm not sure if he's overpowered or not opinons welcome.

@MiLeah: You have some really good ideas there. I'm not sure I want M rated flrits myself but I can defiantly see him teasing the PC almost just like you described. There will be oppunities to tease him back too I'll make sure of that. Wink

Oooh, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother! And that's so nice of you to help her out like that! Hope she recovers okay!

It's also nice to hear word on how Velcan is coming along!
I personally don't mind the stats. If you added 1 or 2 more points to his Dex, then you would hear no complaints from me. And if you don't add'em, then I won't complain either way.

I actually think that BG2 doesn't have enough tankers on the game. If you're not into Minsc (Which I'm not. His voice now drives me mad). And if you don't want that ol' grumpy lump nugget Korgan on your team, then you sorta just get stuck with half tankers like Keldorn, Mazzy and Anomen. So, yea, think his stats are fine.

Ack! I hope your mother is okay!

I generally think 85 points is good for NPCs. More than that can get a bit iffy, but 85 with no 18+ looks fine, I think. You're at 83, so I wouldn't say overpowered at all. From a power gaming perspective, if you want to improve something, I'd probably push CON to 17. You're a fighter, so you could still get more hit points out of that. DEX won't make a difference one way or the other unless you push it to 15. Though I like 13 just in terms of general above average competency.

Also don't forget to go reserve a prefix. =)

...I ...I ...I tank with Haer'dalis. Sad

Defensive spiiiiiiiiiiiin.

I reload against dragons. Sad

Thank you both for your opinions and your concern. My mom's doing better but she still hurts and is on pain meds. Anyway I think I'll add a single point to both CON and DEX and wait and see how that turns out. BG2 does need more tanks so thats the build I'm going for. So...

STR 17
DEX 13
CON 17
INT 14
WIS 10
CHA 14

So that will make 85 points with nothing over 18. He doesn't have much wisdom but he doesn't really need it in my opinion. I don't see him thinking things through all the time like someone with a high wisdom would and he's not a preist. Which reminds me I also have to learn how to make custom classes as bg2 doesn't have a blackguard class included with the game. *goes back to writing and reading*

There's a blackguard kit over at G3 here, though I'm not sure what the protocol/complications of using a mod kit would be.

@Rhaella: I'm not sure either I suppose I could ask the person that made it if i could use it. That or require people install it if they want Velcan. I don't really like the last option though so I may make my own anyway. I want him to have the thief skills move silently and hide in shadows too so making my own would work best I think.

Good news though! The Joining and Parting dailogs are now written. And they are in code! Took me a little less than an hour. I may edit it later but the code is coming along muc easier than I thought it would.

You could also just dual class him fighter/thief. If you don't care about backstab, Swashbucker 5 or 10 and then dualing as a Fighter would probably work quite well. Would definitely work for a Night Mask also since they're technically a thieves' guild. It'd make sense that he could also pick up on the thief skills a bit, given the background.

Or perhaps just make him a stalker and remove the alignment restrictions?

Yea, if you dual classed him as a fighter/thief like Rha mentioned, then I think that would be cool. Though, it's all up to you. But I think putting your own unique spin on the character class wouldn't hurt no one. Laughing Given his past, it would all make sense.

Ah! Congratz! Razz

Really? Hm, never kept him on my team long enough to really find out. I said I was suppose to play a game and test out all the characters, but they either rub me the wrong way, or I feel like I messed up my character and find myself starting over again. So it's never happen.

Another note: swashbucklers are almost as good as fighters anyway when it comes to fighting (and in some ways better), so you could possibly even just leave him as a straight swashbuckler and then give him enough STR and DEX that a player could dual class him into fighter if desired. Swashies are the fighty thieves, so it does work.

Haer'dalis, Viccy, and Imoen are the three I almost never play without. And Jaheira more and more often, even though I used to hate her. Haer'dalis is a horrible tank, what with having no hit points, but when he's got that defensive spin up, it doesn't matter. Granted, it took me forever to figure out I could do more with him than sit him in the back and let him siiiiing.

Which ones rub you the wrong way? (For me: Aerie, Nalia, Jan, Yoshimo a bit if only because of the way it turns out, Korgan. And I wonder why I have to play as a thief, lol.)

Fighter/thief would work and fit his background pretty well too though I'm not sure about the stalker kit isn't that only an option for rangers? I might could change it to a fighter kit though. I'll have to think about this some more.

I play with a different party depending on my alignment. I love to play different charatcer types so they all have different parties. I almost never take Aerie, Yoshimo or Viconia though. I like Yoshimo the best out of the three but I don't like what happens to him so he stays out of the group most of the time. Aerie is annoying even more so than Jaheira which is quite a feat. Jaheira is useful which makes the bossy additude easier to take. My least favorite character in the whole game? Stand up Irenicus! He is an awesome villian but I hate him! I can't stand his smugsoul stealing self! Part of what makes him awesome is that he can get such a reaction in the first place. He has a nice voice though....

Anyway, I know some people here are very talented artists, MiLeah included. The darker longer haired Anomen you did was amazing and the Xan portrait with the rose left me speechless. Anyway I know its early but I'd love for someone to do a Velcan portrait if they feel so inclined

Just popping by to say hello, and hell yeah, there are not enough neutral and evil romance options for women! (exclamation point!)

I wanted to interject here before the writing got too far along - please please consider limiting the use of parentheticals and use descriptive dialogue instead. Canon banters before they got modded were generally descriptive dialog, and as a person who does not always play with too many mods, parentheticals stick out like sore thumbs to me. If you need help unparenthesizing a dialog just ask (anyone, but me too) to help you out.

Example:

(Velcan pulls you into an alley, backs you against a wall and runs his fingers lightly down your back.)

versus

Velcan: Step away from the others.
CHAR:
1) Alright, I'm coming.
2) Hey, let me go, that hurts!
3) No, I'm not going anywhere with you alone.

Velcan 1 / 2: Don't try to escape. I've been meaning to satisfy my curiosity for some time now.
Velcan 3: It's your loss, then. (EXIT/ROMANCE KILL)

CHAR 1 / 2:
1) What are you doing? That tickles!
2) Mmm, can't keep your hands to yourself any longer?
3) V-velcan, your fingers -

Velcan 1 / 2 / 3: Such soft skin, it barely covers your delicate spine... how easy it would be to mark your flesh as my own. Or even break you...

etc.

forgive the pap writing as the example, but the point is for me a dialogue chain is less game breaking and leaves more to the imagination, for those of us with our minds in the gutter, LOL.

keep us posted!

I...uh...disagree with Enkida. As long as the description isn't telling me what I feel, I love the parentheses descriptions. For me it's more smooth, it lets me know what's going on. The just-plain dialogue doesn't tell you what's going on until the last one. It would leave me very confused. I suppose it might be possible, but again I don't think it would be very easy to get across what he's doing.
