You know, take off the paint and the horns, and the rendered piece looks exactly like Sten really. The ears, the heavy brow, the mass, it's all pretty much the same as DA:O. But yeah, just those two things are drastic enough alone to stun me to silence at first.
They're changing dwarves and elves too? One can only hope that means no more gorilla arms.
Edit: Oh, and damn would Morrigan's conversations with Sten have been so much more hilarious if he'd looked like this guy. LOL

I'm very interested to see what they've done with the elves, even if the changes aren't as drastic. Something more feral would be nice.
The more I look over that article and follow the thread, the more I'm starting to like the new Qunari, and that paint/tattoo is just wicked. You wouldn't expect that these are the guys with the most advanced technology in Thedas.

Oooh! I really like the new Qunari art. I wonder if this means that we'll be seeing more of them, and the Qunari culture as a whole. Could be very interesting.

That was one of the first things I thought, past the initial shock. Why put effort into changing something around so much if the player isn't going to be seeing a lot of it?
Damn I hope we get a Qunari LI this time around, especially now. I'm so tired of humans and elves. ><

Okay, first looks at the image kinda freaked me out. I won't lie. But the more I look at it the more and more I desperately start wanting a Qunari LI, but I think that might be involved with my DA2!PC (I've decided that she shall be be aggressive in general than the woobie that is my f!surana) wanting to be thrown against a wall and liking it (because that painted demonic looking creature that they are now calling Qunari would so totally do that). Or you know, it might really just be the horns, I do appreciate a good pair of horns.
I am curious about the subtle changes to the elves appearances as well. The dwarves too, but mostly the elves.

I want to see how elves are changed as well. I hope they're more.. Elf like, and less human with pointy ears like.(A few of them managed to avoid looking like that. But not many.)
I support the Qunari LI idea. Mmm. Dominant male LI. While I appreciate the adorable slightly submissive boys they've been doing lately, I'd much rather have an irritating but amusing alpha male. Particularly if my FemHawke can irritate him back.

This . Please, just give us that want it the option of an alpha male LI. I'm so unbelievably tired of the sensitive pretty-boy, but if there's an option for something like that Qunari goodness, they can put as many Abercrombie and Fitch models in my party as they want. In fact, I don't think I'd ever ask for anything again.

The answer to that is probably "Yes." Because of this .
I'm rather impartial to the Qunari changes myself. Looking forward to see the elves. And also to get an explanation why Sten doesn't have horns. I think it likely to see him in DA2, also.

This for me, too. I loved Alistair(hells, initially, I botched the romance in the OC with him and cried over it), but I'd really like a romance with a strong guy you have to convince you're worth your salt, and really try hard to win over, not just spam the usual sappy niceness(...and this' coming from one who always plays super-good characters). Maybe someone who you can have strong disagreements with and not break the romance?
Aye, I think that would be an awesome change o'pace...assuming he didn't have some dead Qunari girlfriend/sister/mother/granny/insert-odd-relation-here he was mourning over. Now I goes back to lurking.

Elves, Dwarves, Qunari and Human LIs plssssssssssssssss.....
A Qunari would probably be so traditional it would take him a long long time before he actually tells you he loves you. Now THAT is nice. Not like Twilight, where everything revolves around Bella Sue- I mean Swan.

and considering the game is supposed to take place over a 10 year time span that would make more sense no?

I think they have a good possibility of making semi realistic relationships. If the game spans 10 years, then perhaps you'll have the choices of flings, or slow moving relationships, or goodness knows what else. A lot of things can happen in 10 years.

Yes, this! The possibilities should be endless with a story spanning over 10 years. I'm really curios to see what they can come up with.

My god , the sheer depth of crying and stupidity in that thread is mind-boggling. That was train-wreck-esque, living proof of my favourite definition of fans.
I am partial to the style of horns as far as aesthetics go, but anything with that much muscle would be going in my party purely for use as a wall with feet.
