He's pretty. And I're read somewhere that he plays beautifully on flute. Possibly irrelevant, but I love him even more.
If that is even possible I'd love to have him and *spoiler* Vernon Roche in my team. Nothing more fun than team mates who hates each other. [/url]

D'awwww! I'm really thrilled about this character. First Yaevinn and now Iorweth. The Witcher's developers really know how to push my elven buttons, lol.

Ah, the difficult choices a gamer girl must face! I think I'm gonna side with the elves again, though. Doesn't matter if the story won't even offer a choice, I'm gonna side with them on principle, lol.
*Spoilers!*
I'm rather curious if we're going to see Yennefer this time. She was part of the reason why my witcher bedded only two women: Princess Adda and Morenn, the dryad. The other part was that I didn't like the main romance choices, especially Triss, but neither Shani. Adda, on the other hand was pure fun. Her "Tongues, tongues, tongues!" dialogue was hilarious. As for Morenn, well, lol, I had to find out where little dryads come from.
I'm rambling. It happens when I'm excited about a game.

I'd love to see Yennefer! She's an impressive woman, isn't she? And scary. Totally in opposite to Triss She'd probably kill her and all other Geralt's lovers.
I'd also love to meet Ciri! Did you read all of Witcher's books, Songlian? She's a real badass in the end.
I like the way she was mentioned in Witcher 1.
"Innkeeper:"Ahem... Long ago, in a valley far away, lived a girl. She was a true princess, sorceress and witcheress..."
Geralt: "All three? Isn't that a bit much?"
Innkeeper: "Don't interrupt. You want to hear the story or not?"
Geralt: "I won't interrupt again."
Innkeeper: "A story about destiny might prove useful, witcher. (...)"
Rambling about new, exciting games is good.

Nooo. I only have The Last Wish and Blood of Elves. First I thought it's my silly country not bringing the books into the libraries, but then I checked The Wiki and it says: "English translations. To date, only one collection of short stories and the first novel in the Witcher saga have been translated into English. The Last Wish (collection of short stories), Blood of Elves (the first novel in the saga).
And I guess that settles it. I was wondering if there are any amateurish translation on the internet. Else I might take up on learning Polish. It could just be worth the effort, lol.
One of my favorite quotes about Yennefer and Geralt is the one that ends The Last Wish:
"What are they doing?" Dandilion was curious. "Tell me, dammit!"
The elf smiled. Very, very sadly. "I don't like grand words," he said. "And it's impossible to give it a name without using grand words."
I don't know if it has the same effect plucked out of the context, but it really made me grin like an idiot when I first read it.
Oh, and btw, my favorite short story -- from the first volume -- is The Lesser Evil.
"Renfri?"
"What?"
"Is this cambric?"
"Of course it is, dammit. Am I a princess or not?"
That. Was. Priceless.
I love how he spins fairytales and gives them darker and more mature themes. As an Angela Carter fan, I really dig that sort of twisted retelling.

I might translate all of them for you, if you want. Chapter after chapter.
And that's just cruel, I mean, translating only one volume from a whole saga. Bah. It hurts.
But apparently, second volume is coming out... next year.

If you enjoy Witcher Saga I heartily recommend Narrenturm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narrenturm_%28novel%29

You left me quite speechless. Just so you know.
But, no. I can't ask that of you. Those are pretty thick books and it would take *a lot* of effort and time on your part. I have a feeling that somewhere after the first chapter, the joy of reading them would be overcome by the guilt of making you do this. So THANK YOU. But, no. I'll just keep re-reading the first two and re-playing the game until the next one comes out.

Tell me about it. I mean... freakin' Twilight gets translated --in my language-- almost instantly and good books like Mr. Sapkowski's saga come out one book per 5 years. Very frustrating.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! Unfortunately, it has the same problem. I could only find it in German and Polish. Sigh. I'm just going to pre-order Times of Contempt as a sort of relief, lol.

Nah, it wouldn't be a problem. It might be actually a great exercise for my English.
Shame about Narrenturm. I was sure it was translated. -_-'

I don't know if you've seen this. It was apparently downloaded from a Russian site into dA, so I'm guessing not many have seen it, but if you did, my bad. It's pretty neat, so I thought I'd link it.

I like it how ominous they made Iorweth look. And judging by that catapult, we're going to see at least one major battle. I was also watching the writers' diary today and they said something to the likes that compared to TW, TW2 story will be shorter, but more intense.

Gameplay. Geralt and tentacles.
I'm not sure if it was already posted...

Witcher presentation from Gamescom. Quality is not perfect, but gameplay is full of half-naked Geralt. Beware!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg_cVMIAk7k&feature=related part one - actual gameplay starts after 6 minutes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF6X4JqtJKA - part two.
edit: Oo! I've found another interesting info - 16 different endings and 3 different beginnings ( depending if we import save game from Witcher 1 or we'll have an option to choose in the beginning. )

Oh man! That sounds great
Now I really need to buy a new computer. Dragon Age 2 and Witcher 2 will ruin me.

If you don't mind the download, there are 4 videos on this page with some additional footage and better quality than the youtube ones.
Linky.
I wonder if all the choice dialogue is placed in the middle of the screen, as seen in the first video. Seems rather... unnecessary.
